1. Greta Thunberg

Greta Thunberg is a young climate activist who is very famous throughout the world. Her contribution towards the environment is ample in relation to her age, as she founded the global movement “Fridays for Future” when she was just a teenager.

2. Wangari Maathai

Wangari Muta Maathai was a Kenyan environmental and political activist. She has contributed immensely towards environmental as well as feminist issues in her homeland. Wangari was the founder of the Green Belt Movement, whose main motive was to plant a lot of trees. She was the first African woman who was honoured with the Nobel Peace Prize in 2004.

3. David Attenborough

David Attenborough is an environmental broadcaster and a famous British filmmaker. His career as an environmental activist stayed intact for more than 60 years. He made many natural documentaries and films to create awareness about protecting the wild and saving nature. 

4. Jane Goodall

Jane Goodall is a wildlife protection environmentalist whose stories have been the talk of the hour in many magazines and books. In her initial working days, she extensively researched chimpanzees. She also established a non-profit institute in her name that aimed at wildlife research and creating awareness among the general public.

5. Leonardo Di Caprio

One of the most famous Hollywood actors, Leonardo DiCaprio, is also a renowned environmental activist. He has a foundation in his name that focuses on protecting endangered animals and restoring vital ecosystems. Leonardo has created awareness and generated a lot of funding for environmental works through his movies.

Sylvia Earle is a famous American marine biologist and oceanographer. Being so familiar with the vast waters, she is not only excited about the adventures but also worried about the deteriorating marine life. She mentions that global warming is very harmful to the aquatic world.

Christina Mittermeier is a Mexican photographer and conservationist. She pioneered the concept of conservation photography. Her primary motive for doing so was to show everyone in the world about the different environmental issues. Her works are read and discussed in many places around the world. 

10. Sebastião Salgado

Sebastião Salgado is a prominent Brazilian photographer and photojournalist. He has been to more than 120 countries for photography. Through his clicks, he captures and expresses the various wildlife issues and tragedies of animals that human beings have brought upon them. He has also raised a huge amount of money for his ecological center in Brazil.
